Prizes

The School is fortunate in being able to award a number of prizes for excellent performance. These are shown below.

Information is accurate at the time of going to press but may be subject to change during the year.

First and second year

Programme Prize (All Alliance MBS programmes) - £75 in vouchers - for the best overall performance per degree programme.
NB Only one Programme Prize will be awarded across degree programmes with a Specialism and with Industrial/Professional Experience.

Outstanding Academic Achievement Prize (All Alliance MBS programmes) - £75 in vouchers - awarded to those students with an overall year average of 75% or more.

Professor Timothy O'Leary Prize.  Awarded to the student obtaining the best mark in the BMAN21040 Intermediate Management Accounting examination.

Final year

Programme Prize (All Alliance MBS programmes) - £150
NB Only one Programme Prize will be awarded across degree programmes with a Specialism and with Industrial/Professional Experience.

School Prize (All Alliance MBS programmes) - £150
Not normally awarded unless there is more than one candidate for a Programme Prize.

Dissertation Prize - £150 - Awarded for the best three dissertations submitted by Final Year Honours students on the BMAN31500 Dissertation course.

Consultancy Project Prize - £150 - Awarded for the best group Project on BMAN30180 Consultancy Project. 

BSc ITMB Project Prize - £150 - Awarded for the best ITMB Final Year Project on BMAN31260 ITMB Final Year Project.

BSc Accounting Coursework Prize - £150 - Awarded for the highest performing Final Year student on the course BMAN31610 Corporate Financial Communication and Valuation.

University's outstanding academic achievement award

The University will be awarding the top 0.5% of undergraduate students graduating this year with an award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.  Any student on an Alliance MBS programme with a final degree mark of 75% or above may be nominated. 

The awards (presented in graduation ceremonies) consist of:

  • A University of Manchester certificate
  • A cheque for £1000

Dean's Award for Achievement

For those students nominated by Schools who satisfy the OAA criteria but are not one of the 13 students in the Faculty of Humanities allocated the OAA award, the Dean's Award for Achievement will be awarded.

The awards (presented in graduation ceremonies) consist of:

  • A certificate
  • A cheque for £250
