Registration

You are required to register as a student during the placement year - please make sure you complete the registration process on the student system at the start of September. If you are eligible for a bursary, this will be applied directly by the Student Services Centre once you have registered and have completed the Student Finance section.

Reflective diary/log and reports

During your placement you will be required to submit reflective logs and reports about your work experience – further details on this can be found in the placement handbook.

If your internship forms a part of an ICAEW training contract – these records will also be required in order to be admitted to ICAEW membership when you have completed the rest of your training contract.

It is also your responsibility to register as a student with the ICAEW to ensure that your placement counts towards your training contract.  The Internship Manager will discuss this with you during the first few weeks of your placement.  Please also ensure that you keep your PDP up to date.

Visit from the Internship Manager

You will be visited by the Internship Manager during your placement.

You must regularly check your university email account for communications from the School and other university contacts (your university email account will serve as the main means of communication).  The Internship Manager will provide a further point of contact and source of academic guidance.  Students are expected to take a proactive approach with the Internship Manager with regard to requesting guidance on any issues. However the Internship Manager will make contact with students during the placement year to arrange any visits.
